RateKit ("we", "us", "our") is a free web service available at ratekit.org providing business calculators for founders, freelancers and entrepreneurs. The service is operated by an individual developer.

2. Data We Collect
2.1 Calculator Data
All calculations on RateKit happen entirely in your browser (client-side JavaScript). We do not transmit, store, or process any numbers you enter into our calculators. Your financial data never leaves your device.
2.2 Analytics Data (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site. This includes:
- Pages visited and time spent
- Approximate geographic location (country/city level)
- Device type, browser and operating system
- Referral source (how you found us)
- Interactions with calculator elements
This data is aggregated and anonymised. We cannot identify individual users from this data. Google Analytics may use cookies — see our Cookie Policy for details.
2.3 Future: User Accounts (Coming Soon)
We plan to introduce optional user accounts for saving calculations. If you choose to register, we will collect:
- Email address
- Password (stored as a secure hash — we never see your actual password)
- Saved calculation data you explicitly choose to store
Registration will always be optional. All core calculator functionality will remain free and available without an account.
3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process data under the following legal bases:

4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share data only with:
- Google Analytics — for site analytics (Google LLC, USA). Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare — our hosting provider processes request logs for security and performance.
5. Data Retention
Analytics data is retained for 14 months in Google Analytics (default setting). We do not retain calculator input data as it is never transmitted to our servers.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Object to processing or request restriction
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time
